Early in his career, Ron represented a large Midwestern publicly held life insurance company in a sell side mergers and acquisitions (M&A.)  His past experience as a life insurance agent, his first business experience after leaving college plus becoming a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with a full suite of FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc.) designations prepared him to do this.
 
He added Wealth Management and adopted a philosophy, which he still holds today, of “surrounding himself” with experts (CFA’s and CPA’s) that in his estimation, were smarter than he was and he could grow academically with. The mantra is working and he finds that the two disciplines are very synergistic and one can get involved with the “second bite of the apple” in an engagement when appropriate for a client.
 
The synergies between Investment Banking and Wealth Managment are excellent.
  
Ron is a graduate of Concordia College, Moorhead, MN and has advanced degrees from the University of North Dakota and the University of MN, Minneapolis, MN. In addition to receiving the CFP designation he has served on the adjunct faculty for the College for Financial Planning, holds licenses in Life, Health, variable life and annuities, a R/E brokers license for smaller business opportunities and has complete suite of FINRA designations/licenses for Series 7, 24, 79, 63 and 65 as well as a relationship with a SEC Registered Investment Advisor based in downtown Minneapolis.
